Opie had piano lesson #3 today. Although I began this adventure with trepidation, I’m already seeing many benefits of her musical cross training.
One of the best parts of being a parent is how your childrens’ interests shape and enhance your own life. Because of Opie and her sister, I know now more about gymnastics and American Girl dolls than I ever expected knowing, as well as guinea pigs and flower fairies.
The oboe has come with its own sets of interests branching off into the unknown. Continue reading
The piano will be digital.
All you purists can get up and leave now; please don’t slam the door on the way out.
But it is what the house demands.
Still working out the ramifications of my latest decision: Opie is going to start learning piano in addition to oboe. She’ll do a separate, shorter lesson with Teacher on a different day. The plan is for her to learn both piano and theory.
There are still a few details to work out, like, a piano(!).
